Prairie, located at 4035 Hamilton Rd, Cincinnati, 45223."Chocolat" Curated by Brian Joiner - group show he produced which is built around the idea of chocolate as a metaphor for escapism from current global, economic and political difficulties. Joiner produced this show once before at Keith Mueller's Flowers and Beyond in Over-the-Rhine almost a decade ago and decided to resurrect it at Prairie this Winter. Before he sadly passed away this past October, Joiner was able to select and contact artists he wished to participate in the show and memorialize his curatorial vision in writing. Brian Joiner conceived of Chocolat as a way to "Respond to the current economy and its resulting societal angst, mistrust and despair. It is an escape, a feel-good, light hearted, poetic vision of artists' experience with chocolate."
The show runs from December 3rd through February 5, 2011, with an opening reception on Friday December 3rd from 6-9pm.
Prairie gallery hours are Tuesday - Friday 10-6pm, and Saturday 10-4pm.
